How to Make the Perfect Easter Bunny Egg Cup
This Bunny Egg Cup is perfect for holding colored Easter eggs. With just a few craft supplies kids can make several to display their colored and decorated eggs.
Print the Easter Bunny Egg Cup template. Cut out the templates are trace them onto the appropriate papers—the small inner ear shapes on pink and the larger ear shapes and heart-shaped face on the spring colored cardstock. Cut out the shapes. You’ll also need to cut a strip of the cardstock 1½” x 5½”.
Measure and mark 1½” on the toilet roll.
Cut the toilet roll along the measured line.
Cover the toilet roll with the 1½” x 5½” strip of cardstock. Set aside to dry. You can secure the strip in place while the glue dries with paperclips or small binder clips. (You can see that I mismeasured my strip and it’s too short :) If this happens to you, don’t worry—this seam is going to be covered.)
Now, glue the pink inner ears to the larger out ears.
Glue both ears to the heart-shaped face.
Next, we’ll work on the whiskers. I used dental floss, but yarn, twine, or chenille stems will also work. Put a small dab of glue on the face where the whiskers will go. One by one lay the whiskers in place. Don’t worry if they’re too long—they can be trimmed later.
Glue the small pompom nose and googly eyes in place. Instead of a pompom you could use a small button, rhinestone, or even a small circle cut from paper. If you don’t have googly eyes, you can draw the eyes on the face. In fact, you could draw all the facial features if you prefer.
Attach the bunny to the toilet roll
Now glue the bunny face to the covered toilet roll.
Lastly, glue the large pompom on the toilet roll for the tail. (This is where my short strip of cardstock got camouflaged.) In place of a pompom you could substitute a cotton ball.
Enjoy displaying your eggs in your Easter Bunny Egg Cup.
