Hi! I’m Brandy from A Rustic Stitch, representing the Bowdabra Design Team. I’ve got a super fun craft project for you today. We’re gonna create a rustic shamrock wreath using mini heart wreaths. It’s gonna give your space a delightful Irish and rustic vibe. So, grab those wreaths, and let’s dive right in! Get ready to add a touch of charm to your space. Happy crafting!
Materials:
7×7 tin hanging sign
3 mini heart wreaths
Rusty wire
Paint colors: Truffle, Moss Green, Black, & White Chalk paint / Cinnamon acrylic
Faux Cinnamon: cinnamon powder & ModPodge
Bow: 1/2″ x 12″ strips of muslin, black ticking, green plaid / jute bow
Antique wax and Rusty Hinge distressing ink (optional)
Instructions:
First, sponge on some truffle paint onto the metal sign. Add moss-green paint on top of this layer. Next, using a small brush dab it into some cinnamon and paint on the metal sign to give it an aged look. Highlight with some cinnamon acrylic paint to seal.
Now, attach the three mini hearts with some wire. Wrap the wire around a piece of dowel to curl.
Make the Bow:
First, take some twine fold it in half, and lay it in the Bowdabra. Next, cut some thin strips of fabric, ticking, tea-dyed muslin, as desired, etc. Then, place them, alternating the colors in the Mini Bowdabra, making mini bows by making a loop on one side and a matching loop on the other.
Tie the bow with the twine slipknot pulling tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove and turn to the back and tie a knot. Use the excess twine to tie the bow to the mini hearts shamrock.
Now, thin some white chalk paint with water and brush on the metal sign, wiping off some excess to give it a distressed look. Add a tiny twine bow to the center of the shamrock and then hot glue the shamrock to the metal sign. This rustic shamrock wreath is super cute and perfect for St. Patrick’s Day!
