Learn how to make a large loopy hair bow with the Mini Bowdabra. We invite you to watch our tutorial to make a 5″ wide 8-loop bow. It takes just minutes to make this adorable hair bow so why not make several for gifts?
Bowdabra Mini bow maker with Bowdabra tool and ruler attachment
Bowdabra bow wire
54” of satin ribbon
Lighter to seal the ends of the ribbon
Alligator clip
Glue dots
First, place the tool and ruler attachment onto the Mini Bowdabra.
Next, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half, and lay it in the Mini Bowdabra. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while making your hair bow.
Seal the ends of the ribbon with a lighter. Now, fold the ribbon in half to find the center. Pinch the center together to form a crease. Lay the ribbon in the Mini Bowdabra and make a 2 1/2” loop. Continue making loops till you have eight loops.
Scrunch down occasionally with the Bowdabra wand to keep the satin ribbon from moving around.
Next, take the loose wires thread them through the loop, and pull tight while the bow is in the Bowdabra. Remove from the Bowdabrea, separate the wires, bring them around to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
To finish, tie on an alligator clip lined with ribbon. To hide the wire (optional) tie a small piece of ribbon with a knot in the center and attach it with a glue dot or hot glue.
Fluff out your large loopy hair bow! Make more than one for friends or gifts. This bow is perfect for Prom or as a cheer bow.
