Hi, I’m Brandy with A Rustic Stitch, and a proud member of the Bowdabra Design Team. In this video tutorial, I’ll be showing you how to create a stunning DIY Rustic Heart-shaped Door Hanger with a beautiful Bowdabra bow. Let’s get started and bring a touch of rustic charm to your home decor!
Materials:
- Bowdabra bow maker
- Heart shape sign
- Plastic wall tile
- 2 coordinating scrapbook papers
- ModPodge
- Plaster chalk paint by Waverly
- Distress Ink: Antique Linen, Rusty Hinge
- Kraft paper tag
- Bow: 6″ strips of coordinating fabrics or ribbon with neutrals such as burlap, muslin, and cheesecloth
- Greenery used: Spanish moss, rose with rose petals
- Tag printable
Instructions:
Make the Bow:
First, cut a piece of twine fold it in half, and lay it in the Bowdabra. Next, begin layering 6-inch pieces of various colored fabrics in the Bowdabra. Once you have layered enough, pull up on the loose twine thread it through the loop, and pull tight. Remove from the Bowdabra, turn to the back, and tie a knot.
Trim the ends of the bow if needed and fluff out. Finally, glue a small rose and leaves to the center of the bow. Add the free printable underneath the bow gluing to secure. Add the string hanger to the Heart-shaped door hanger and enjoy!
