Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra shows you the super easy steps to create a stunning swag with Bowdabra. The swag looks terrific on a lantern or even a wreath.
6” wide Deco Mesh, 5 yards
6 small evergreen picks
2 yards of Dimensions Ribbon – Blush/Gold 2.5”
Baby’s Breath or small filler flower bush
Hydrangea stem or pick
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire long enough that you will have enough to tie to the lantern when finished. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, twist and fold the mesh for the perfect foundation of your lantern swag. Clip off any stray pieces of mesh.
Now, add the first floral followed by two evergreen pieces right in the Bowdabra. Then, add the hydrangea stem.
Next, using a small piece of the rose/gold ribbon dovetail the ends and place in the Bowdabra for the tails.
Now, make a loopy bow with a long piece of rose/gold ribbon. Place the ribbon in the Bowdabra and fold and twist to make loops till you reach the end.
Finally, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Fluff out the loops and florals and use the excess bow wire to tie this stunning swag to the lantern.
