Watch this video DIY as Sandy Sandler the creator of the Bowdabra shows you how to whip up some winter wreath magic in minutes. What a beautiful and unique wreath to display all winter long. So let’s get started:
Wire wreath frame (Sandy got hers from Dollar Tree)
Rope for weaving
Bowdabra Bowmaker
Bowdabra bow wire
Scissors
Assorted flowers and picks
Ribbon (Sandy uses two types for this project)
First, weave the rope through the wire frame. Next, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire long enough so that you will be able to tie it to your wreath when finished. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipnot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Then, take your florals and lay them on one side of the Bowdabra so they are cascading down. Next, place your evergreen pick on the other side. Follow that with the rose pick.
Next, lay down two pieces of ribbon for the tails which you have already dovetailed the ends. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.
Now, take the longer piece of ribbon and place it in the Bowdabra right side down, twist, and make a loop. Continue to twist and fold back and forth making loops to create a bow. Repeat these steps with the second sheer ribbon.
Finally, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Tie the bow onto the wreath with the excess wire. Fluff out the bow and arrange the cascading florals. It’s perfect winter wreath magic. This wreath is wonderful for a winter wedding or just to use for all winter decor.
