Create a stunning velvet tree topper bow with this easy step-by-step guide! Perfect for holiday enthusiasts and DIY crafters, this tutorial will show you how to make an elegant bow using the Bowdabra tool and red velvet ribbon. Ideal for Christmas trees, wreaths, or mantle decorations.
Super easy Bowdabra velvet tree topper bow
Materials:
4” wide velvet ribbon
Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Create the Tails:
Instead of dovetailing, curl the tails of your ribbon underneath to form a roll. Scrunch the center of the tails into the Bowdabra.
Next, twist and fold over the ribbon to form loops. Continue twisting and folding to make four loops on each side. Measure the loops to make sure they are about the same size.
Make the button loop by folding the smaller piece of ribbon making sure the right side is facing up.
Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
To finish, shape out the bow by pulling the opening the loops and pulling them all around. Since this is a wired ribbon, it is super easy to shape this gorgeous velvet bow.
Use the excess wire to tie the velvet tree topper bow to your tree. Like, Comment, and Subscribe for more easy and fun holiday crafting tutorials. Share your Bowdabra bow creations in the comments!
