Welcome to another exciting episode on the Bowdabra channel with your host, Sandy Sandler! Today, we’re bringing Christmas to your doorstep with a stunning and festive door swag tutorial.
Get ready to transform your door with a touch of elegance and a sprinkle of festive cheer. We’ll guide you step-by-step on how to create a beautiful door swag using the magic of Bowdabra bow wire, mesh, greenery, and some gorgeous ribbons.
2 yards of red deco mesh
Red sheer ribbon
1 ½” wide elegant red/gold ribbon
Greenery pick
Holiday pick
Roses bush
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, take about two yards of red deco mesh, fold the ends under to hide the frayed edges and scrunch it into the Bowdabra.
Now, take the red, sheer ribbon tails that have already been dovetailed and lay them in the Bowdabra. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.
Next, take the greenery bush and fold it in half so that the foliage is equal on both sides, and lay it in the Bowdabra.
Then, lay in a holiday pick on each sides of the Bowdabra. Follow this by laying in the rose bush folded to incorporate roses on both sides.
Next, take the elegant 1 ½” wide red/gold ribbon and lay in two pieces for tails. Curl the tails upwards.
Follow this with the longer piece 2 ½” red/gold ribbon by laying it in the Bowdabra and twisting to create a loop. Continue folding and twisting to make loops for a beautiful bow. Finish by laying in a large red hydrangea flower in the center.
Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
