Imagine making one in just about any size. And the best part, add an adorable bow made using the Bowdabra to the flap of the pouch! Plus, recipients can re-use the Bowdabra gift pouch to hold business cards, as a mini wallet or a travel toiletry bag or so many other useful ways! How cool does that sound!
First, gather the supplies:
- Transparent Purple Vinyl – 12″x53″
- Pouch Template 13″x 5″ white paper
- Stapler, scissors, pencil, parchment paper
- Flower shape diamond mesh wrap
- Quick dry Fabri-Tac glue
- Clothes pins
- Velcro stick-on fastener
- Mini Bowdabra, Measuring Tool, Wand
- Bowdabra Bow Wire
Use the bottom of the glue bottle to curve the corners of the pouch flap using a pencil and . . .
cut out.
Next fold the template at three inches for the top flap, then fold at the eight inch mark, down from the top.
Then close the template to see the shape of the pouch when cut.
Next, lay the template on the transparent vinyl at the edge and cut out.
Make the Bag
Use clothes pins to hold the paper in place as you cut out the curves of the flap at the top.
Then, fold the cutout vinyl along the three and eight inches for the pouch. Make sure the edges of the vinyl line up and are straight. Secure the edges with clothespins, leaving space to staple the bottom edges together.
First, one side and then the other side.
Once the edges of the pouch are stapled together, place a sheet of parchment paper on work surface to protect from glue and to aid in drying. Then begin gluing on the flower mesh strip. Allow each side to dry before moving onto the next side.
First, the front and around . . .
to the back and . . .
ending at the front, again.
Cut off excess flower trim and let dry.
Once all the flowers are attached and dried to the edges, glue on a small strip of stick-on velcro for the pouch fastener.
Add the bow!
To make a decorative bow closure for the front of the vinyl pouch: Cut an 18″ piece of Bowdabra bow wire, folding in half and placing down into the Mini Bowdabra, tucking ends under.
Next, pinch the end of the satin ribbon on the roll placing it down into the Mini Bowdabra.
Create a loop by folding over the ribbon at the 4.5 mark on the Bowdabra measuring tool. Twist the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra smoothing the ribbon out.
While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling tightly while gently pulling the bow out.
Wrap a small strip of mesh flowers around the center of the bow using glue (not shown) and attach to outside of flap with glue.
