How to refresh discounted floral bouquets
Joette is here to show you another tip from a florist. When fresh floral bouquets have reached their sell by date, stores usually discount them. Did you know you could refresh those flowers thus extending their life? Bowdabra designer, Joette shows you the tips and tricks to give new life to those fresh floral bouquets.
Materials:
Discounted fresh floral bouquets
Rubber gloves
Chenille stem
Zip ties
Instructions:
First, clean up the lilies. Put on a pair of rubber gloves and clean off the rusty stamens. Pull them off and discard them. Next, using a chenille stem, gently wipe off some of the rusty stains from the flower. Make sure you pull the stamens and discard them from the just opening lily buds.
Clean the stems
To clean the stems take the foliage and strip it off. Snip off the ends of the stem at a sharp angle and place them in water.
Now, clean up the roses and mums. Pick off the dried petals from the roses. If the mums have molding from the water strip off that area.
Create your arrangement adding any extra florals and greenery you have grown. Save the lilies for last. Tie everything together with a zip tie and place in a vase with floral food and water. See how easy it is to save money by refreshing floral bouquets?
