So grab your Mini Bowdabra and let’s dive into the world of stylish bow fashion that will leave everyone in awe of your creativity and autumn-inspired style. Let’s get started!
3 – Pieces of 2.5” wide Orange Velvet Dollar Tree ribbon… 7”, 6” and 2”
One 5” piece of 2.5” wide Dollar Tree Teal Velvet ribbon
One bead
Ponytail holder
Jewelry pliers
Lighter
Scissors
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half and lay it in the Mini Bowdabra. Tuck the ends underneath to stay out of the way while you make your bow.
Next using a 7 inch piece of orange velvet ribbon remove the wire with needle nosed pliers. Then, cut a scallop shape on the ends and seal it with a lighter or clear nail polish to prevent fraying. (If using a lighter have an adult help) Now, pinch the center of the ribbon and lay it in the Mini Bowdabra. Repeat this step with the 6″ piece of orange ribbon.
Next, take the teal ribbon and remove the wires. Then, fold it in half lengthwise and repeat again. Cut a dovetail by cutting at an angle away from the fold. Unfold and you have a double dovetail. Seal the ends and find the center and lay it in the Mini Bowdabra.
Finally, take the shortest piece of orange ribbon with the wires removed, fold it lengthwise as you did on the teal ribbon and cut a scallop edge. Unfold and seal the edges. Place it in the Bowdabra. Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.
Now, pull the loose wire ends tightly through the loop while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove from the Bowdabra, separate the wires, turn to the back and tie a knot. Now, turn to the front and thread on a bead. Thread the other wire end through the bead and turn to the back and tie a knot. Attach a ponytail elastic with the excess bow wire and clip off the ends.
Everyone will just love this pumpkin inspired ponytail bow. Be sure to make a few extra for gifts!
