Welcome to our latest mini Bowdabra tutorial where we’ll be creating a stunning cheer bow. This football print ribbon is perfect for cheerleaders and any football lover.
In this tutorial, Bowdabra creator, Sandy Sandler, will guide you through the process of making a stunning cheer bow using the Bowdabra bow maker. This fun and easy-to-follow guide will have you crafting your own football ribbon hair bow in minutes. Make several for gifts as well!
Bowdabra tool and ruler (optional)

First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, take a piece of the football print ribbon on which you have already dovetailed the ends. Pinch the center to form a little mountain fold and place it in the Mini Bowdabra. (To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.)
Now take the longer piece of satin ribbon, fold in in half to find the center, and lay in in the Bowdabra right side facing down. Now, circle across the Bowdabra with one end, with the right side facing down, scrunch it in the Bowdabra.
Then, take the other end and bring it across and under the first loop making an X. Facing the right side down scrunch that end in the Bowdabra.
Now, push the lower ribbon in the Bowdabra first, then, push in the top ribbon. Measure to make sure your loops are the same. (The additional Bowdabra tool and ruler will aid you in making sure all the loops are the same.)
Next, take another piece of football print ribbon and place the end right side down in the Bowdabra. Bring the ribbon across and place the other end right side down in the Bowdabra. Now, scrunch down the center.
To finish, take two pieces of pre-curled korker ribbon and place one in the Bowdabra on each side.
Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn it to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Attach this stunning cheer bow to a headband (as shown) or tie it to a ponytail elastic or hair clip. The result is a stunning hair accessory that’s perfect for game day, back to school, or any occasion where you want to show off your team spirit!
