In this video, I’m going to show you how to create a beautiful Bridal Bouquet using the Bowdabra, a nifty tool for bow making, but also can be used for making DIY floral arrangements a breeze! With just a few simple steps and some basic materials, you can create this stunning bouquet that will rival any expensive florist version bridal bouquet! So, let’s get started!
Assorted silk floral bushes and stems of your choice and colors:
Hanging bush
Two Rose bushes
Three Assorted filler bushes
Berry bush
Lilly bush
Faux branch bush
Two Loose matching floral stems
Larger faux succulent plant stem
Long, hanging Fern bush for the cascade
Two Assorted shorter foliage bushes for framing the top half of the bouquet
1.5 Yards of 2.5” wired ribbon
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Bend the floral greenery ferns in half and place it in the Bowdabra with each side facing down. Next, add some more greenery to form a fan in the back. Keep adding foliage to your cascading bridal bouquet making sure the stems are facing down which will become the handle.
Now, start adding flowers separating the longer stems from the shorter stems. Keep the shorter flowers in the center and bend the longer ones towards the side. Add the filler flowers as desired. After you have added all your florals, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.
Now, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bouquet is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security. The Bowdabra is like having a third hand so it makes creating arrangements a breeze!
To cover the stem handle take a length of ribbon and starting from the bottom twist and wrap till you reach the top. Tie the ends in a half knot. Cut the extra stems for a finished look and then add a corsage pin to hold everything together.
To finish, fluff and shape your beautiful cascading bridal bouquet bringing down some florals bending and twisting in a pleasing arrangement. If you are looking to save money on a wedding, this bouquet will save you well over $100! And it took you just minutes to make.
