Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra shows you with step-by-step instructions how to make a quick and easy patriotic door bow! This door bow will be sure to get plenty of complements from everyone who sees it. You can smile and say I did it myself with Bowdabra!
Bowdabra
Bowdabra bow wire
Red deco mesh
Red 2 ½” wide ribbon for tails
Two American flags
Florals of choice
First, cut a long piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Using the red deco mesh, fold the end under to cover any fraying, then scrunch in the center of the mesh from the top into the Bowdabra. When you reach the end, fold under that edge as well.
Next, cut two pieces of red ribbon and dovetail the ends. Lay them in the Bowdabra for the tails.
Now, take your flags and lay them into the Bowdabra facing opposite directions. Then, lay in your florals.
Lay a piece of Patriotic truck ribbon and blue ribbon which you have dovetailed the ends into the Bowdabra.
Now, working with the patriotic truck and blue ribbon together, place the end in the Bowdabra. Make sure the truck is facing right side up. Then, to make sure the truck facing the correct direction, make a circle. Then push the ends down in the middle and push the center down making a bow.
Next, take the ribbon end and make another circle pushing the ends down in the center and finally pushing the circle down in the center. This ensures that the truck print will be facing in the proper direction.
Repeat this step three more times. Take your Bowdabra wand and give everything a good push.
To finish, pull the wire loop from the Bowdabra and thread the loose wires through it. Pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot.
You have created easy patriotic door bow in just minutes. Proudly display on July 4th, Memorial Day, Veterans Day and more.
