How to make a surprisingly easy door swag
Materials:
- Bowdabra bow maker
- Bowdabra bow wire
- 21”x2.5y Deco Mesh
Tails:
- Spring Daisy Ribbon lavender 1 yard, 2 ½” wide
- Spring Daisy Ribbon Yellow 1 yard, 2 ½” wide
Bow:
- Spring Daisy Ribbon Lavender 72” x 2 ½”
- Spring Daisy Ribbon Lavender 75” x 2 ½”
- Wired satin Daffodil 10” x 1 ½”
- Two Pansy Picks
- Spring Boom Pick
Instructions:
First cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, take some deco mesh and lay that in the Bowdabra. Fold it over and make a loop and then fold it to the other side making a matching loop. Now, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire and use that to tie the ends together to stop any fraying and give it a finished edge.
Now, take another piece of deco mesh and scrunch that down into the Bowdabra from the top. Give everything a good push with the Bowdabra wand.
Next, place in the yellow daisy tail followed by the lavender daisy tail in the Bowdabra.
Then, lay in two floral picks. Now, lay in the yellow daisy ribbon on which the tail has already been dovetailed. Then fold over to make a loop twisting the ribbon so that the right side is facing up. Continue to twist and fold to make another matching loop ending with two loops on each side and two tails. Lay in another floral pick.
Now, make another fold and twist bow with the lavender daisy ribbon.
To finish your door swag, take a piece of wired satin yellow ribbon and scrunch in from the top for a center scrunchy bow. Push everything down with the wand.
Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot.
Shape and fluff the bow. You have a beautiful and super easy door swag that was a breeze to create!
