How to make an amazing door bow with Bowdabra
Materials:
- Large Bowdabra
- Bowdabra bow wire
- White décor mesh 21” wide 2-3 yards
- Patriotic bush/spray
- Wide red velvet ribbon 50” of 5” wide
- Flag salute ribbon 60” 2 ½” wide and 1 1/2″ wide
- Red Velvet 5” wide for 30” tail
- USA sign
- Double faced tape
- Hot glue
Instructions:
First, cut a length of the wide velvet ribbon and dove tail the ends. Then add a piece of double stick tape and attach the USA sign down its length. Lay it aside.
Next, make the swag portion. Cut a length of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half and lay that in the Bowdabra. Tuck the ends underneath to stay out of the way while you make your swag.
Now, take the wide mesh, roll the ends under so the fraying doesn’t show and feed into the Bowdabra from the top.
Then, take a piece of the red velvet ribbon and lay the right side down into the Bowdabra. Fold the other side over and push into the Bowdabra, then scrunch down the center. Repeat this step with another piece of velvet ribbon.
Next, take the patriotic floral picks and lay them in the Bowdabra.
Now, using the 2 ½” flag salute ribbon lay it in the Bowdabra and twist and fold to make loops back and forth making sure the right side is always facing up.
Rpeat this step with the 1 ½” flag salute ribbon making gradually smaller loops.
Finally bring up the Bowdabra bow wire and thread through the loop. Pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back. Add the velvet ribbon with the USA on it and tie them together in a knot and double knot. (alternately you could add the sign directly to the Bowdabra at the start)
Fluff and arrange your patriotic door bow pulling all the loops and mesh to the perfect form.
