How to make unique ribbon party favor bags for your next event

ribbon party favor bagsAre you planning your next celebration? How about making these adorable ribbon party favor bags for just about any event! And they’re easily made using ribbon with no sewing! Yes, ribbon! DIY ribbon party favor bags to give as favors or gifts, or to use in a table setting – both inside and out! And the best part, you can use just about any type of wired ribbon that’s at least four or more inches wide to make for any occasion, theme or holiday!

Materials needed:

Let’s begin by cutting a 15″ strip of 4 inch wide wired ribbon. I’m using a silver lame type wired ribbon for this.

Fold down each end 1/4″ and glue to seal using fabric glue. This will be the top of the bag.

Next, fold the ribbon in half together, matching the top and edges. Apply fabric glue along the side edges and .  .  .

seal together to form the bag and let dry. Now wasn’t that easy!

Once dry, add your favorite goodies inside the bag!

Make the bow

Now, make a bow use the Mini Bowdabra to close the ribbon party favor bags. Insert an 18″ piece of bow wire folded in half into the Mini Bowdabra, tucking ends under. Then take a 10″ strip of ribbon and pinch the ribbon in the middle and insert down into the Mini Bowdabra for the bow tails.  Dovetail the ends by folding each end together and cutting at an angle from the fold down to the opposite corner end.

Next, pinch the end of the ribbon on the roll placing it down into the Mini Bowdabra.  Create a loop by folding over the ribbon at the 3″ mark on the ruler.  Twist the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra smoothing the ribbon out.

On the opposite side, fold over the ribbon at the 3″ mark creating another loop, twisting the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra.

Next, make another loop, folding over at the 2.5″ mark, twisting the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra and .  .  .

making another 2.5″ loop on the opposite side for a total of four loops (two on each side) Use the Mini Bowdabra wand to crunch down the bow, using scissors to cut off the excess ribbon.

While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling tightly while gently pulling the bow out.

And finally, tie the bows around the ribbon party favor bags using the Bowdabra bow wire, and then fluff the bows for a gorgeous look!
