Spring Fiesta Ribbon 2-1/2″ wide
Candy Dots ribbon 1-1/2″ wide Turquoise/Lime 10YD
Spring Fiesta ribbon 2.5” wide, 3.5 yards
1.5” 3 yards of tulle
Dollar store floral pick
First, using Zots glue dots or a glue gun wrap a piece of striped ribbon around the hat. Next, bring the tulle around like a hat band and tie a knot. Set aside.
Cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, make a loopy bow. Take the tulle and lay it in the Bowdabra, then bring it across to make a loop and continue back and forth making loops for a bow. Now, lay in a strip of tulle and candy dots ribbons for tails.
Next, start with the end of the candy dots ribbon and lay it in the Bowdabra. Make loops back and forth twisting and folding so that the right side of the ribbon is facing up.
Take another piece of tulle and create more loops going back and forth. (since the tulle is the same on both sides there is no need to twist when making the loops)
Now, take 1 ½” of the dotted ribbon and lay it in the Bowdabra. Twist and fold back and forth making loops. Lay in the small flowers.
Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Take the loose wires and pull it through the loop tightly while it is still in the Bowdabra. Take it out, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot.
Fluff and arrange the bow. Use the excess bow wire to tie it to the hat. You have an adorable up-cycled spring hat.
