What could be cuter than this adorable Valentine pom pom love bug!! The Mini Bowdabra makes it a snap to make.
You only need a few supplies:
- Mini Bowdabra Bow Making and Design Tool
- 15″ length Bowdabra bow wire
- Red, white, pink, or lavender yarn
- Pipe cleaners
- Googly eyes
- Glue or hot glue
Let’s make the Valentine Pom Pom Love Bug:
- Fold the bow wire in half, and place between the Mini Bowdabra pillars. Tuck the ends of the wire under the Mini Bowdabra to keep them out of the way.
- Place the end of yarn in the Mini Bowdabra. Wind the yarn around the pillars. You want the yarn to be nice and plump—the more yarn you wrap, the fatter your pom pom will be. The length of yarn that you wrap will vary depending on the weight of the yarn. Finer yarns require more wraps.
- When you’re finished wrapping the yarn, with it still in the Mini Bowdabra, pass the wire ends through the loop, and tighten. Tie a knot. Remove from the Mini Bowdabra, and trim the wire ends.
- Cut the loops.
- Cut pipe cleaner in half. Coil one each of each pipe cleaner halves to form antennae, leaving about 1” uncoiled.
- Glue the pipe cleaner antennae and googly eyes in place.
