Bowdabra designer, Joette is here to show you how to make the best faux birch logs centerpiece. Add the beautiful Bowdabra bow and your decor is perfect!
These logs came from the Target Store Dollar Spot & the ribbons, bits/pieces, berries, picks, and ornament came from Hobby Lobby or were leftover pieces from other projects. This centerpiece is the whole reason why I save most of my scraps… I’ve found that the scraps hardly ever go to waste anymore when I use them in my Bowdabra for amazing projects like this one.
Target Faux Birch Log set
Poinsettia bloom
1 Berry spray
1 Branch spray
Assorted Christmas greens
1 Ornament on a stem
2 Strips of 4” wide, wired ribbon… 36”-42” long
1 Strip of 84” long, 2.5” wide wired fancy velvet ribbon
Large Bowdabra
Bowdabra Bow Wire
First, cut a 36″ – 42″ strip and wrap it around the faux birch logs. Tie it in a knot.
Next, make your bow. Cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Now, add the Christmas pics, and various greenery. Then, add the matching ribbon from wrapping the logs in the Bowdabra. Make a loop and form a bow with two loops on each side.
Next, add an 84′ strip of wired velvet ribbon leaving a tail. Fold and twist with three loops on each side. End with a 10″ tail on the other side. Scrunch everything down. Add the berries, ornament, and poinsettia.
Insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security. Make sure you leave plenty of excess wire to tie to the birch logs.
To finish, fluff and arrange your bow. Tie it with a knot to the ribbon you tied around the birch logs. You have a gorgeous and easy-to-make birch logs centerpiece!
Optional: Small strand of fairy/LED lights
