Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra is here to show you how you can easily make an elegant tree topper bow with 5-inch wide ribbon! So, let’s get started
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, cut ¾ yard of the wide ribbon, which you have already dovetailed the ends, find the center and lay it in the Bowdabra for the tails.
Now, take the 5-inch wide ribbon, twist it, and lay it in the Bowdabra. Bring it across and make a loop, twist it, and make another loop on the other side. Continue to twist and make loops making sure the right side is always facing up.
Then, add the poinsettia pick in the center.
Now, open the towers a bit and scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
To finish, shape out all the loops and arrange the bow.
