How To Make Easy 5-Minute Bows For A Wreath – Bowdabra Pro Tips

Want to make super easy 5-minute bows for a wreath? Well, you are in luck because, in this step-by-step tutorial, we’ll show you how to make DIY bows that will look great on any wreath. You can use these ribbon bows on gifts, door hangers, and wreaths. You can use any color combination of ribbon of your choice and it will look cute. The bow-making tool used in this tutorial makes making simple bows and multiple loop bows quickly.

DIY Traditional Bow (Starts at 1:20)

Materials required:

• 100-yard Bowdabra bow wire
• Large Bowdabra
• 1 ½” Black White Gingham Ribbon Roll

Process:

1. Nick folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. After cutting off the long tails from the ribbon roll, he places them right into the Bowdabra.
3. He places the ribbon in, leaves an overhang, flips the Bowdabra, and creates 10 loops (3 ½” – 4”).
4. He secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops.

DIY Funky Bow Wreath (Starts at 5:10)

Materials Required:

• 100-Yard Bowdabra Bow Wire
• Large Bowdabra
• 1 ½” Black White Gingham Ribbon Roll
• 14” Grapevine Wreath
• Purple Flower Stem with Leaves sprays/picks
• Hot Glue

Process:

1. Nick folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. He creates one loop (loop about 3” – 3 ½” & tails about 6” – 8”) with the ribbon, cuts it off, and places it right into the Bowdabra.
3. In the same fashion, he creates 6 more loops using the same ribbon.
4. He secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.
5. In the end, he sticks the bow securely to the wreath and adds some decorative purple flower stems with leaves sprays/picks with hot glue.

Black White Gingham Ribbon Bow (Starts at 10:18)

Materials Required:

• 100-Yard Bowdabra Bow Wire
• Large Bowdabra
• 1 ½” Black White Gingham Ribbon Roll

Process:

1. Nick folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. After cutting off the tails from the ribbon roll, he places them right into the Bowdabra.
3. He takes the ribbon, flips it inside out, places it on the Bowdabra, and creates 4 loops (4” – 4 ½”).
4. Using the same ribbon, he creates 2 comparatively smaller loops (3”) and 1 button loop on the Bowdabra.
5. He secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops.

DIY Double Ribbon Bow (Starts at 12:56)

Materials required:

• 100-yard Bowdabra bow wire
• Large Bowdabra
• 2 ½” Green Ribbon Roll
• 1 ½” Orange Ribbon Roll

Process:

1. Nick folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. He cuts off a bunch of tails (6 tails) from the green ribbon roll and cuts off 5 shorter tails from the orange ribbon roll.
3. Then he puts the green ribbon tails one-by-one right into the Bowdabra.
4. After that, he puts the orange ribbon tails one by one inside the Bowdabra.
5. He pulls the bow wire from one end to the other and ties the bow.
6. He finishes off by fluffing the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.

DIY Gift Bow (Starts at 22:50)

Materials required:

• 100-yard Bowdabra bow wire
• Large Bowdabra
• Red-White Striped Ribbon Roll

Process:

1. Nick folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. He takes the ribbon, flips it inside out, places it on the Bowdabra, and creates 10 loops.
3. Then, he pulls the bow wire from one end to the other and ties the bow.
4. He finishes off by fluffing all the loops.

Door Hanger Bow (Starts at 25:40)

Materials required:

• 100-yard Bowdabra bow wire
• Large Bowdabra
• Pink-Blue-Green Plaid Ribbon Roll

Process:

1. Nick folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. He cuts off a bunch of long tails (6 tails) to create loops.
3. He creates 6 loops with 6 ribbon tails and places them right into the Bowdabra.
4. He puts all the loops on the same side of the Bowdabra instead of putting them on alternative sides.
5. He secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.
