Video DIY – How to make a super easy ribbon flower with Bowdabra
Materials:
- For the Daffodil 096/645 1″x24″ Wired Satin Ribbon cut into 4-6″ pieces)
- For the leaves – Eucalyptus
- 1252/355 2.5″x16″ Burlap Wired (Moss) (cut into 2-8″ pieces)
- 1 strip of 1″x4″ Lime Green Wired Ribbon (center)
Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Make sure that the bow wire is long enough to tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your flower.
Next, take two pieces of the burlap wired ribbon that you have already cut to pointed ends and lay them into the Bowdabra.
Then, add the pick of eucalyptus leaves.
Now, begin adding the yellow petals of the flower. Cut the ends to a curved shape, although you can adjust the petals to your preference when you are making flowers by cutting to a point or curve.
Finally, scrunch in the lime green ribbon. Now, give everything a good push with the Bowdabra wand. Insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
To finish your flower, arrange and shape the petals of the flower bringing them up and curving around. Then, pull and shape the leaves.
You have a gorgeous and super easy ribbon flower that you can use for a centerpiece, hair bow, gift wrap and so much more.
Pro tip: If you misplace your Bowdabra wand, never fear you may use a ruler in its place!
