Follow along with Britt’s Creations as she makes a beautiful 4th of July swag that will wow your neighbors!
First, we will start by making our swag. Cut your eucalyptus spray’s stem 6 inches, then, lay your snapdragons on top and find the perfect placement.
Once you have the snapdragons placed, cut their stems to be even with the eucalyptus spray. Next, attach all the stems with hot glue and twine. Wrap your twine up the stems to not only hide the glue & stems but to make it look complete. Put it aside and let’s start the Bowdabra bow!
To begin your bow, start by placing your twine in the center of your Bowdabra. You will need to cut your tails for the stars & stripes ribbon 28 inches and 20 inches for your burlap ribbon tail. Load the stars & stripe ribbon tail in first. Then, add your burlap tail into the Bowdabra.
Next, you will create your loops of the bow each loop will be 28 inches long. Start by loading the stars & stripe ribbon into the Bowdabra. You will have an inch overhang on the left side. Make sure the pattern side is not showing, twist the ribbon to expose the pattern side making your first loop on the right side.
Now, create another loop on the opposite side. Repeat this step with the burlap ribbon. The pattern will be stars & stripes and burlap until you have 6 loops on each side (3 loops of stars & stripes and 3 burlap ribbons on each side).
To finish, grab the twine and place the two ends into the loop and pull tight. Flip the bow over and tie the twine 2 good times. Attach your pipe cleaner to the back of the bow and attach the bow to the swag.
Lastly, fluff your bow and twist your tails! You have a stunning fourth of July swag for your front door this year. Thank you for following along, make sure to follow Brittany on her social media accounts for more tutorials like this.
