How to make a super easy spring wreath bow
Materials:
- Bowdabra
- Bowdabra bow wire
- Yellow wired burlap ribbon 2 ½” x 36”
- Lemons and blooms ribbon 2 ½” x 30”
- Black Cambridge gingham ribbon 2 ½” x 32” two pieces
- Black Cambridge gingham ribbon 2 ½” x 2 ½” x 124”
- Yellow wired burlap ribbon 2 ½’ x 92”
- Lemons and blooms ribbon 2 ½” 60”
Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Dovetail the ribbon tails. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.
Next, place the tails in the Bowdabra starting with the black gingham, followed by yellow wired burlap, black gingham, and finally, lemons and blooms ribbon.
Begin the graduated bows
Now, take the longer piece of gingham ribbon and lay it in the Bowdabra. Begin twisting and folding to make loops back and forth until you have reached the end of the ribbon. Shape the bow as you make the loops.
Then, using the yellow burlap ribbon lay it in the Bowdabra twisting and making loops as you did in the preceding step except make the loops a little smaller.
Use the Bowdabra wand to scrunch everything down.
Finally, take the last piece of lemon and blooms ribbon and lay it in the Bowdabra. Twist and make loops just a little smaller than the previous ones. Make sure the right side is always facing up.
To finish, with your last bit of ribbon make a button or floral loop.
Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Shape and arrange your spring wreath bow. Use as a door bow, or attach to a wreath or swag.
