Encourage mom to take time to relax with these bath salts. They make a perfect Mother’s Day gift, and they are easy to make. We’ll even make a presentation container for them.
Recipe for the bath salts:
- ¼ cup Epsom salt
- 1 Tbs. baking soda
- 3 drops essential oil (optional)
- 2-3 drops food coloring
- 1 tsp. coconut oil
- 1 tsp. coarse salt (optional
Combine all ingredients in a medium sized bowl or container. Stir well to thoroughly mix the ingredients. Set aside for now.
Gather these supplies for the container:
- Cardstock
- Liquid glue
- Clean, used food container—I used pudding/yogurt containers, but any clear container will work; look for single serve containers. (Hint: if there is any writing on the container, it generally comes off with
nail polish remover.) - Blank Labels and Tags template or Preprinted Labels and Tags template
Let’s make the container for your bath salts:
- Trace the top of the container onto the cardstock.
- Cut out the tracing for a lid.
- Print a labels and tags template. There are preprinted tags and blanks, so you can create your own label and tag. Add a bath salts label to the cardstock lid.
- Complete your gift tag.
- Fill the container with bath salts.
- Add a bead of glue to the top of the container.
- Glue the top on the container. Do not shake the container or turn it over!! Set aside to dry.
- Add gift tag to container and present to Mom on her special day.
