How to make a beautiful wired ribbon wreath bow
Materials:
- Peppermint ribbon #7418 1 ½” x 63”
- Burlap wired ribbon rose red #1252 1 ½” x 17”
- Burlap wired ribbon rose red #1252 1 ½” x 62”
- Peppermint ribbon #7410 1 ½” x 17”
- Gleam wired ribbon red 2 ½” x 61”
- Three flower crystal picks
Instructions:
First cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, lay in the ribbon tails in the various colors which you have already dovetailed the ends. (To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.)
Then, take the longer lengths of ribbon and working with them held together, twist and lay them in the Bowdabra. Make sure that the right sides are facing up. Make a loop, fold, and twist so that the right sides are always facing up.
Continue to fold and twist making loops with the three different ribbons together.
Now, add the crystal flowers into the Bowdabra.
Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Now, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
To finish, shape and fluff out your wreath bow. Now, it is ready to add to your wreath or to use as a tree-topper bow.
