Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra is here today to show you the simple steps to make the super easy Bowdabra hair bow in literally minutes. The hair bow makes a great addition to any wardrobe and is also a super gift! So, let’s get started:
(The measurements are simply guidelines, make the ribbon strips any length you choose)
First cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the end under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Dovetail all the ribbons labeled tails. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold. Then, lay each piece into the Bowdabra fanning out as you place them.
Next, to create a little bow, take the longer piece of ribbon and place the right side down, come back around and, again, push the right side down. Now, push the ribbon down in the center. Repeat this step with the last shorter piece of ribbon.
Finally, add a bunch of mini roses.
Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Insert the Bow wire through the inside of the hairband at the seam. Then thread the other end through and tie a knot so that the wires do not touch the head of the wearer. Clip the wires. Shape out and arrange the bow.
Now, to make this a gift with a gift, use the hairband to stretch around a gift bag using it as a gift bow. Then, place the gift in the bag. Voila, two gifts in one.
