Christmas may come only once a year, but you can make this tulle Christmas angel decoration anytime. It’s perfect for your Christmas-in-July projects.Tulle Christmas Angel Decoration

Here are the supplies you’ll need:

  • 24″ length 6″ tulle
  • 36″ length 6″ tulle
  • 24″ length 1/8″ organza ribbon
  • Three 18″ lengths Bowdabra bow wire
  • Mini Bowdabra
  • Wooden disk  with a diameter of 5/8″ to 3/4″
  • Rhinestone
  • Hot glue

Here’s how to make the Tulle Christmas Angel:

  1. Cut tulle and ribbon to length. Quickly pass the ends of the ribbon through a flame to seal them.
  2. The angel is made in three parts. Let’s begin with the body. Fold a length of bow wire in half and place it in the Mini Bowdabra. You can tuck the wire ends under the Mini Bowdabra so they are out of the way.
  3. Scrunch the 36″ length of tulle into the Mini Bowdabra with ½” to ¾” of tulle extending on one side of the pillars and the remaining tulle on the other side.
  4. Compress the tulle with the Mini Bowdabra wand. With the tulle still in the Mini Bowdabra, pass the ends of the bow wire through the loop, and tighten. Tie a secure knot on the back of the bow, leaving the wire ends long. The body piece is complete and can be set aside while we make the wings

  5. Scrunch the 24″ length of tulle in the Mini Bowdabra with 3″ extending on each side of the pillars. Compress the tulle with the wand.
  6. With the tulle still in the Mini Bowdabra, pass the ends of the bow wire through the loop, and tighten. Tie a secure knot on the back of the bow, leaving the wire ends long. The wings are now complete and we’ll finish by making the small bow.

  7. Leave a 5″ tail at the beginning of the bow. Then, make a bow with three loops on each side, and end with another 5″ tail.
  8. With the ribbon still in the Mini Bowdabra, pass the ends of the bow wire through the loop, and tighten. Tie a secure knot on the back of the bow, leaving the wire ends long.
  9. All three parts of the tulle Christmas angel are complete and it’s time for assembly.

  10. Trim the top of the body piece, leaving about ¼” stub.
  11. Working on your hot-gluing surface, shape the wings as shown.
  12. Hot glue the body on top of the wings.
  13. Hot glue the wooden disk on top of the body piece.
  14. Use hot glue a rhinestone to the center of the bow, encasing the wire knot in hot glue. Trim the wire ends.
  15. Hot glue the bow in place just under the wooden disk.
  16. Trim the wire ends from the body piece. Use the wire ends from the wings to form a hanging loop.
