How to up style your dollar store flip flops to a patriotic theme

Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra is here to show you how you can easily up style dollar store flip flops to a patriotic theme with a few simple supplies and the Bowdabra. Follow along for an amazing transformation!

Upstyle dollar store flip flops to a patriotic theme

Materials:

• Flip flops
• Mini Bowdabra
• Bowdabra bow wire
• #7382 Blue and White Gingham Ribbon 15” x 1 ½”
• Glue dots or glue gun and glue sticks
• #7380 Color sheet plaid ribbon 19” x 2 ½”
• Blue and white gingham ribbon 5” x 1 ½”

Instructions:

First, glue the end of the blue and white gingham ribbon to the flip flop and wrap it all around.

Next,  cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the end under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Now, scrunch the 19” length of patriotic plaid ribbon into the Bowdabra from the top till you reach the end. Push down with the Bowdabra wand.

Next, take the 5” x 1 ½” gingham ribbon and scrunch down from the top as you did with the plaid ribbon.

Finishing your patriotic flip flops

Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security.  Clip the ends.

Use craft glue or glue gun to glue the bow to the flip flop.
