If you’ve ever wondered how to make a bow or a bow wreath like you see on the internet, look no further! Watch Nick from Nick’s Seasonal Décor on Bowdabra Facebook Live, with funky and traditional bows, and a DIY Patriotic wreath, teaching us the process from scratch. Funky Bow (Starts at 2:03)
Materials required:
- 100-Yard Bowdabra Bow Wire
- Large Bowdabra
- 1 1/2″ Navy Blue Plaid Wired Ribbon Roll
- 1 1/2″ Red and White Plaid Wired Ribbon Roll
Process:
- Nick folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
- After cutting off the tails from the Navy Blue Plaid Wired Ribbon and Red and White Plaid Wired Ribbon roll, he places them right into the Bowdabra.
- Next, he creates one loop using the Red and White Plaid Ribbon, cuts it off, and places it right into the Bowdabra.
- He creates one loop using the Navy Blue Plaid Ribbon, cuts it off, and places it right into the Bowdabra.
- In the same fashion, he creates more 4 loops with both of the ribbons alternatively.
- To secure the bow, he pulls the bow wire from one end to the other and makes slip knots.
- He finishes off by fluffing the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.
Multi-Ribbon Bow (Starts at 10:21)
Materials required:
- 100-yard Bowdabra bow wire
- Large Bowdabra
- Blue Ribbon Roll
- Red Ribbon Roll
- Beige Ribbon Roll
Process:
- Nick folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
- After cutting off the tails from the Blue Ribbon, he places them right into the Bowdabra.
- Next, he creates 3 loops on either side of the Bowdabra.
- After cutting off the tails from the Red Ribbon, he places them right into the Bowdabra.
- He creates 2 loops on either side of the Bowdabra.
- After cutting off the tails from the Beige Ribbon, he places them right into the Bowdabra.
- He creates 1 button loop on the Bowdabra with the Beige Ribbon.
- He pulls the bow wire from one end to the other and ties the bow.
- He finishes off by fluffing all the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on all the tail ends.
Traditional Bow (Starts at 17:12)
Materials required:
- 100-yard Bowdabra bow wire
- Large Bowdabra
- 2 1/2″ Rustic Ribbon Roll
Process:
- Nick folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
- After cutting off the tails from the Rustic ribbon roll, he places them right into the Bowdabra.
- Then, he creates 9 loops on the Bowdabra to give it a traditional bow design.
- He secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.
DIY Patriotic Wreath with a Funky Bow (Starts at 21:51)
Materials required:
- 100-yard Bowdabra bow wire
- Large Bowdabra
- Red White and Blue Stripes ribbon roll
- Hot glue
- 18” Grapevine wreath
- Red Poppy Flower, white flower greenery decorative picks
Process:
- Nick folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
- Next, he creates 1 loop from the Red White and Blue Stripes ribbon roll, cuts it off, and places it right into the Bowdabra.
- After cutting off the tails from the same ribbon roll, he places them right into the Bowdabra.
- He creates another loop from the Red White and Blue Stripes ribbon roll, cuts it off, and places it right into the Bowdabra.
- In the same fashion, he creates 2 more loops with the same ribbon roll.
- He secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.
- In the end, he sticks the bow securely with hot glue to the wreath and adds some red poppy flower decorative picks and white flower greenery picks too.
Voila! You made a DIY Patriotic Wreath!
