Bowdabra creator, Sandy Sandler, uses upcycles ribbon scraps and the Mini Bowdabra to make a really pretty Mother’s Day bow. Watch this DIY video as Sandy shows you the simple steps!
Pretty Mother’s Day Bow
Materials:
- Mini Bowdabra
- Bowdabra bow wire
- Assorted scraps of ribbon which have been dovetailed
- Butterfly pick
Instructions:
First cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Mini Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the end under to stay out of the way while you are making your Mother’s Day Bow.
Next, take each of the scraps of ribbon of your choice which have already been dovetailed and lay them into the Mini Bowdabra. (To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle towards the fold.)
Add them to the Bowdabra as you desire. You can make a loop if you want, and even push it down from the center like you are making a scrunchy bow inserting into the Bowdabra like an accordion.
Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double know for extra security.
Finishing your Mother’s Day bow
To finish, separate and arrange the bow. This gorgeous Mother’s day bow can be used in so many different ways. Use it to decorate a breakfast tray, or use it as a floral corsage. You can even use it to decorate mom’s gift.
