How to personalize a mini first aid kit for Mother’s Day

mini first aid kit

If the kids are looking to make something for Mom this Mother’s Day this DIY is perfect.  Personalize a mini first aid kit she can tuck away in her car, kitchen, or sewing room?  Simply pop down to the local department store and pick up a mini first aid kid available for under $2. (You can also find small containers at dollar stores and fill them with sewing supplies, etc.)

Materials:

3” x 4” mini first aid kit or dollar store container if you are filling it yourself

Pieces of embossed felt in your choice of color

Precut felt or foam letters

Tacky Glue

Scissors, pencil

Personalized Mini first aid kit

First, measure the top of the box and cut out a piece of felt to fit.  Trim if necessary.  It looks nice if there is a tiny margin around the edges.

Next, spread a generous amount of glue onto the top of the box and attach the piece of felt.

Glue the letters of your choice on top.  Here is where you can get creative.  If your letters are small enough and don’t interfere with the box closing, you can even attach letters along the sides.

Hint:  You can personalize a mini first aid kit for Father’s Day too.  Dad would love a mini first aid kit for his workshop.
