Watch this quick video DIY and learn how you can make this adorable and super simple spring headband in minutes with Bowdabra. Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra shows you the easy steps.
Materials:
- Mini Bowdabra
- Bowdabra bow wire
- 2 ½” x 16’ spring wired ribbon
- Floral pick
- 4 pieces 1 ½” x 5” wired yellow satin ribbon
- One piece 1 ½” x 4” wired blue satin ribbon
- Headband
Instructions:
First cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the end under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, take the right side of the ribbon and put it down into the Mini Bowdabra. Then, fold it back over and again take the right side, and put it down into the bowdabra. Now, find the center and scrunch that down into the Bowdabra.
Then, take the floral pick and lay that into the Bowdabra.
Next, since we are aiming for a flower-like bow, trim the ends of the pieces of wired satin ribbon into half-moon shapes. Lay the pieces into the Bowdabra. Make sure you are using wired ribbon so that it makes it easy to shape out your flower bow.
Now, add the blue piece of wired ribbon. Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.
Finally, take the two loose wires and put them through the loop, and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Double knot it.
To finish, use the excess wire to tie to the headband making sure you feed the wire through to the back of the flower so that the wire doesn’t touch the little girl’s head. Cut any wire short. Shape out your flower and bow.
