Placing the Bow Wire
The first thing I do is fold the bow wire in half and place it in the center of the bowdabra. I like to use about 8-9 inches of bow wire.
Starting your Bow
Take your white 34-inch long piece, fold it in half, and scrunch it in the center. To perform a uniform scrunch, fold in half, bring the front, and the backup and place it down. If you have a right and a wrong side, then you would place the ribbon down with the right side facing down.
Make a loop and scrunch again. You can measure the loops if you chose to do so but I just estimate. Repeat the step with the other side. Use your wand to scrunch everything together
Repeat these steps with the printed ribbon. Since this ribbon does have a right and wrong side, scrunch with the wrong side facing up. I made the printed loops slightly smaller than the white loops.
Adding More Loops
Take your 18-inch long piece and fold it in half to find the center. Then with the wrong side of the ribbon facing up, scrunch the end of the ribbon. Make a loop and scrunch the other side. Scrunch the center and place it down.
Tying the Wire
Give your bow one final scrunch. Then take the bow wire, the two open ends inside of the loop. Hold the bow in place and give it a nice tug. Then remove it from the Bowdabra. Tie it in a knot a few more times just to make sure it’s nice and secure.
Adding a Center Knot
Take another small piece and tie it in a loose knot. Then tie it around the center of your bow. You also have the option of using a hot glue gun to attach the knot.
Preparing your Gift
Twist your twill around your box. See video. Take your bow and either tie the bow in place with the bow wire or take the twill and tie it around the bow. You can slide your burlap rose behind your bow. Use your twill to tie the rose to your gift wrapping. Just have fun with it and make it your own.
