Kid’s Party Gift Bags with Bowdabra
Hey everyone, I’m Simply Shalese, here to make something awesome with you guys! Today we will be inexpensive kid’s party gift bags. Let’s get started!
Materials
Ribbon – 3 different colors of your choice
Scissors
Rubber band
Gift bag
Tissue paper
Placing the Bow Wire
The first thing I do is fold the bow wire in half and place it in the center of the Bowdabra. I like to use about 8-9 inches of bow wire.
Adding your ribbon
Take your first color of ribbon scrunch it in the center and place it down in the center of your Bowdabra. Cut the end of the ribbon. Repeat this step with the other two colors of ribbon. These will serve as your tails. The length of your tails is completely up to you.
Adding your Loops
Take your first ribbon, scrunch the end, make a loop, scrunch, and make another loop. Repeat this step with the other two colors. Once all three colors are in place, cute the rest of the ribbon from the roll. Leave an inch or so of ribbon to act as another set of tails. This will give the bow more of a fun and whimsical look on your gift bag.
Tying the Wire
Then take the bow wire, the two open ends inside of the loop. Hold the bow in place and give it a nice tug. Then remove it from the Bowdabra. Tie it in a knot a few more times just to make sure it’s nice and secure. Do not cut away the excess bow wire.
Adding the Rubber Band
Take your rubber band and thread it onto your bow wire. Then tie the bow wire in a know around the rubber bands and cut away the excess bow wire
Preparing your Gift Bag
Take the tissue paper of your choice and place it in the center of your gift bag. If you would prefer to use candy that coordinates with your color scheme, then you can definitely do so. Once you have the tissue paper in place, add your final touch, which is your bow.
The good thing about having the bow on the rubber band is that it makes the removal and replacement of the bow simple. The kids can remove the bow without destroying it. If you chose to use a hair scrunchie or hair tie, this could double as a cute hair or wrist accessory.
