Supplies

Let’s have a kid’s hair bow party with Bowdabra

Instructions

  1. Cut the ribbons to length, and quickly pass the ribbon ends through a flame to seal the ribbon.
  2. Optional: Personalize each 36″ length of ribbon with participant’s name.
  3. Prepare a coloring station for each party guest where they can color their ribbon with fabric markers.
  4. Let each child let their creativity go wild with the fabric markers and ribbon.
  5. Younger kids will need some help with the construction of the hair bow, but older ones can do many of the steps independently.
  6. Begin by folding the bow wire in half and put in the Mini Bowdabra. Tuck the ends of the wire under the Mini Bowdabra to keep them out of the way.
  7. Begin with a 6″ tail, make a two-loop fold-over bow, and end with another 6″ tail.
  8. Compress the ribbons in the Mini Bowdabra with the wand.
  9. With the ribbons still in the Mini Bowdabra, pass the wire ends through the loop and tighten. Then, tie a secure knot on the reverse side.
  10. With one wire end extending to each side, use hot glue to secure one end of the narrow length of ribbon in place on the back of the bow with the wires under it.
  11. Bring the narrow ribbon to the front of the hair bow and secure it in place with hot glue.
  12. On the back of the bow, open the hair clip, pass the ribbon through it, and glue in place. Trim excess ribbon and wire ends. If attaching the bow to a headband, follow Steps 9, 10, and 11 eliminating the hair clip and substituting the headband.
