Hey everyone, I’m Simply Shalese, here to make something awesome with you guys! Today we will be making adorable Spring Hair Bows. Let’s get started!

Large Loopy Hair Bow

Materials:

Bowdabra bow maker

1.5 inch Bright plaid wire-edged ribbon – 1 roll

Hair clip

Hot glue gun

Bow wire

Scissors

Placing the Bow Wire

The first thing I do is fold the bow wire in half and place it in the center of the Bowdabra. I like to use about 8-9 inches of bow wire.

Making your Loops

I’m goin to scrunch the end of my ribbon. I prefer to use a uniform scrunch where I fold the ribbon in half, and bring the front and the back up. Then place the ribbon down in the center of the Bowdabra. Next, make a loop with your ribbon and scrunch it once again. The size of the loop is completely up to you. You can measure each loop if you choose to do so but I just estimate.

If your ribbon is only printed on one side then whenever you scrunch your ribbon, you will need to twist the ribbon before placing it down on the Bowdabra. And continue repeating the same steps until you have the desired size hair bow. Use your wand to help scrunch everything together. This is also a good time to make any necessary adjustments.

Finishing up, I made two smaller loops to end my hair bow. You don’t have to do it this way. You can make each loop the same size if you chose to do so.

Tying the Wire

Once you’e done, give your bow one final scrunch. Then take the bow wire, the two open ends inside of the loop. Hold the bow in place and give it a nice tug. Then remove it from the bowdabra. Tie it in a know a few more times.

Next, you can cut away the excess bow wire

Adding your Center

Take about a 4 or 5 inch long piece of your ribbon and tie it in a simple knot. Place the knot in the center of the bow. You can tie it together at the back of the bow or hot glue it in place. Cut away any excess ribbon.

Covering your Hair Clip

Take your 3/8 inch long piece and hot glue it to the incline of the hair clip. Bring the ribbon around and glue it down to the back of the clip. Lastly, glue the end of the ribbon to the inside of the clip.

Adding your Clip

Place hot glue along the back of the hair clip and place it firmly to the back of the hair bow. Be sure that the entire clip is pressed against the hair bow.

Making Final Adjustments on your hair bows

Once you’re added the clip, you can manipulate the bow as much as you’d like, making any necessary final adjustments. And you are all done!

Then I place it down in the center of the Bowdabra. I make my first loop and scrunch it down. Repeat this step with the other side of the ribbon. Use your wand to scrunch everything in place.

Now it’s time to add your white ribbon. Start by scrunching the ribbon in place but before you place the ribbon, twist it. Since this ribbon has a right and a wrong side, you have to twist the ribbon before placing it down. If your ribbon is printed on both sides, then you can skip this step. Next, I’m going to make a loop and scrunch it once again. When making the last loop, you don’t have to twist the ribbon because it’s going straight into your tail.

Be sure to use your wand to scrunch everything together. This is also a good time to adjust your ribbon
