How exciting would it be to receive a gift basket of holiday bows! Especially if you are one who has trouble making bows or buy them already made! What a cool gift! And creating lots of bows using the Bowdabra makes it so easy, too!
Materials:
Assorted holiday ribbons
Basket
Floral foam and floral pins
Floral stem wires – 18 gauge
Wood dowel rod
Bowdabra and Wand
Bowdabra Bow Wire
Instructions:
Start with any type of basket with a handle. Then shape floral foam to fit the size of the bottom of the basket and place inside secured.
Next, use ribbon to wrap around the sides of the foam.
And instead of using shredded paper as filler to cover the foam, lets make bows!
First, start by folding a 18″ length of bow wire in half and place in the Bowdabra, tucking ends under. Leave the ribbon on the roll so not to waist any, creasing the ribbon just above a short tail and insert ribbon down into the Bowdabra.
Make a five inch loop and press into the Bowdabra. Fold the ribbon on the opposite side, making a five inch loop, inserting down.
Fold and insert one more loop on each side for a total of four loops, making sure to scrunch down the ribbon using the Bowdabra Wand. Then, dovetail the ribbon ends by folding the ribbon together and cutting at an angle from the fold down to the corner tip.
While the bow is still in the Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling tightly and tie in a knot at the back, gently pulling bow out.
Tie a floral pin onto the back with the bow wire . . .
Make several more bows that will cover the floral foam.
Next, wrap stem wire around a dowel rod to use as bow holders.
Have fun making different types of bows using assorted ribbon and loops to tie onto the curled stem wires and insert into the floral foam.
Place bows randomly in the basket until satisfied with look!
How cute is this holiday bows gift basket! What a unique idea!
