Are you wondering how to decorate a wire pumpkin wreath like the type found at the dollar store? It’s really quite easy to let your creativity flow in making a beautiful wire pumpkin wreath with colorful autumn florals and bows!
Let’s begin by lining up decorative floral stems like faux sunflowers, autumn foliage, berries and bittersweet sprigs, etc. to wire together.
Then, attach the group of floral stems to the bottom of the pumpkin wreath with wire.
Next, make a smaller version to attach to the top, just below the stem.
To make the bows: Fold an 18″ piece of bow wire together placing down in the Mini Bowdabra, tucking ends under. Using 1.5″ wide ribbon from the LaRibbon Halloween Novelty Collection, cut a 20″ length of ribbon. Allow for a 4″ tail, creasing the ribbon and placing into the Mini Bowdabra. Since the design is only on one side, twist the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra.
Then, make a loop, and twist ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra.
Next, fold and twist the ribbon for a matching loop on the opposite side down into the Mini Bowdabra. Continue to fold and twist two more loops on either side.
Next, scrunch down the ribbon loops using the Mini Bowdabra Wand. Dovetail the ends by folding the ribbon in half and cutting at the fold on an angle down to the ribbon edge for each tail.
Add another LaRibbon design ribbon and repeat the previous steps for making the loops. Use the bow wand to hold the ribbon down and in place.
While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling tightly and tie in a knot, gently pulling bow out. Fluff the loops and bow. Make a second bow with smaller loops for the top of the wire pumpkin wreath.
Tie bows to the center of the floral stems with the bow wire in the back, top and bottom, for a fabulous looking fall pumpkin wreath!
