Having a Halloween party and need some fun, simple and inexpensive decorations? Make these easy bow tie napkin rings using the core from a toilet paper roll. (who doesn’t have those?) Then, add a cute bow tie you make from adorable Halloween print ribbon from LAribbons.
So let’s get started!
First cut as many 1” pieces from a toilet paper cardboard score for the number of napkin rings you need. You can squash the roll down slightly in order to cut it. It easily reforms its round shape.
Next, take the 1” wide ribbon and using hot glue (You may optionally use tacky glue if you choose) carefully glue the ribbon all around the 1” tube you cut from the toilet paper core.
Cut an 18” piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Fold it in half and insert it into the Mini Bowdabra. You will have a Loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot.
Now, cut a piece of 2 ½” wide coordinating ribbon 10 inches long. Insert the right side down into the Mini Bowdabra. Then, bring the other end of the ribbon across and insert. Push the middle down and you have a perfect little bow. Scrunch down with the Bowdabra wand.
Next, insert the two loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove the bow, turn to the back and tie a knot. Double knot it. Cut the loose wires short. Fold another piece of the 1” coordinating ribbon in half and starting at the back of the bow glue to the center all around ending where you started.
Glue the bow tie to the napkin ring over the area where you glued the ribbon covering the cardboard loop.
You can vary the color ribbons for just about any holiday or event!
