Fun holiday wreath bow
Materials:
- Bowdabra
- 32” Gold Bowdabra Wire
- 9” x 90” White Tulle
- 5” x 243” Bowdabra Crimson Scroll Ribbon
- 1.5” x 32” Red and White Polka Dot Ribbon
- 1.5” x 22” Red and White Polka Dot Ribbon
- (5) Holiday Picks
Now we’re going to make this playful, fun holiday bow, but it could also be a wreath bow or act like a wreath itself.
First, I’m going to take my gold Bowdabra Bow Wire, I’ve folded it in half. I’m going to lay it down into my Bowdabra and tuck the ends underneath. Then, I’m going to take my Crimson Scroll Ribbon, and we’re just going to twist it. Now I have the wrong side on the inside of my loop. And I’m going to twist it here, so again, the wrong side of the ribbon is on the inside of the loop.
And all I’m going to do is keep folding and twisting. So, twist here and fold. And this is a Bowdabra Crimson Scroll Ribbon, so you can actually buy this in our Bowdabra store. So, I’m going to fold it back and twist. And I’m kind of shaping it as I go along.
Next, I’m going to take my tulle, and I’m just going to just put some tulle in here. And I’m really just doing this so it’s going to give a little height to the rest of my bow, but you’re not going to really see it. It gives a little bit of contrast.
Now, I’m going to take my red polka dot ribbon, I’m going to fold it in half and just lay this down in here. And I’m going to take my other piece and just lay this going the other way.
Add the picks
Next, I’m going to take my red pick here. And then, I’m going to take my really pretty gold pick and lay this here. And for my fun pick, I’ll put this kind of going that direction. So, then I’m going to take this pick and put it this direction.
So, we have a lot of picks in this bow, but that’s what makes it like a wreath by itself. And actually, I’m going to put this one going this direction. I put this one last one right in here. And then I’m just going to take my wand and kind of scrunch everything down in here. Finally, I take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, and as I do with every bow, I folded it in half, so now I have a slipknot to pull my wire through. Pull it really tight while it’s still in the bow, pull it out.
And now, I’m going to separate the ends and get it all the way through all of these picks that I’ve put in here. So, just bear with me. And bring it around to the back. I’m just going to tie a knot with my Bowdabra Wire and tie another knot.
Then, I’m going to bring it back around. And we’re going to shape our loops. And bring this one this way and keep shaping the bow. With this ribbon, what I’m going to do is I want to kind of give it a little curlicue. It’s a wired ribbon, so you can do that. And I’m going to do the same thing with this, I just kind of curlicue it around. I puff out my loops. And do the same curlicue with this one. So, it gives it a really cute little look. And once you’re finished puffing, you have this gorgeous bow.
