Having a party? Sandy Sandler, the creator of Bowdabra shows you how to easily create a beautiful birthday party centerpiece in no time at all. It’s a great decoration for a kid’s birthday party.
Two 6″ x 1 yd white glitter felt
One 6″ X 20″ white glitter felt
Two 16″ x 1 1/2″ pink satin ribbon
One 2 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ Bowdabra pink ribbon
So now we’re going to make this cute bow that could be used as a birthday party centerpiece, or for a little princess party. Let’s get started.
First, I’m going to start by taking my Bowdabra Bow Wire, cutting a piece, folding it in half and laying down into my Bowdabra. I’m just going to tuck the ends underneath so they stay out of the way. Then, I’m going to take this piece of glitter felt. It makes a really pretty ribbon. So I’m going to take the right side of this felt and just scrunch this down into my Bowdabra. And I’m going to fold it back over. Again, I’m taking the right side of the felt, scrunching it down.
Next, I’m going to come here and find the center and just scrunch that down into my Bowdabra. Now, to make sure I have the center, I’m just going to fold these ends up, make sure that they’re equal. And they’re a little off, so, there we go.
Now, I have another piece of the exact same felt. I’m going to take the right side of my ribbon, I’m just going to lay that down into my Bowdabra. I’m going to flip it with the wrong side of the ribbon on the inside… it’s actually not a ribbon, it’s a felt, and then I’m just going to scrunch that. Now, I’m going to come back over here, scrunch that down in. So, I have one more piece, and again, I’m going to take the right side, put it upside down. This piece is a little shorter, so we’re just going to bring this around here and scrunch this.
Next, I’m taking the right side of my ribbon and putting it face down into the Bowdabra. Then I’m going to take this, bring it down in the center and take my wand (The felt is extremely thick) and scrunch it into my Bowdabra.
Then I have these really pretty pieces of our silk ribbon, and I’m just going to flip them in half, lay those down. And I have another piece, I’m just going to lay that down. Then, I have these really pretty David Tutera Crystal Lights. You could see they light up, which is kind of cool.
Finally, I’m just going to end it with a little bow here, so I’m going to just fold this in half. I’m going to take the right side of the middle and put that down into my Bowdabra. I’m going to bring this around and again take the right side down. This is how we would make a boutique bow. I’m just going to bring this and I’m going to make an X on the other side, bring it around here.
Now, because this felt is so thick, I’m holding everything in the Bowdabra with my fingers for this last part. So, I’m going to just take the center of this and the center of that and scrunch that down. I’m going to take my wand, and I’m not even sure that I’m going to build the pressure down much more.
We have that there, then I’m going to take my Bowdabra Bow Wire and bring it up here. Then I’m going to pull it through. I pull it really tight while it’s still in the Bowdabra. I’m going to pull it out, separate my ends and bring it round to the back and tie a knot here, and definitely double on it. I could even tie this onto a wreath, just as a great bow that could work for anything.
I love the texture of the felt. And then I’m just going to take my lights and bring them through here. I just I’ll just sort of feed them through the bow so they come out and they look really cool. Then I’ll just bring this around here. I bring this there, and you have this beautiful bow that could be used for a birthday party centerpiece or on a wreath. It’s really endless what you can use it for.
