Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra shows you how easy it is to put together this simple gift using a scarf for the bow and bag filling! Isn’t that amazing?
So let’s get started.
“Hi, everybody. I’m Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra. Today, we’re going to make a really fun gift. It’s kind of a gift in a gift, because the bow, we actually will make out of this beautiful scarf. So, I always, if I see beautiful scarves at like a dollar store, I buy a bunch of them, because they’re great for making bows. So, let’s get started.”
I have my regular Bowdabra and my Bowdabra Bow Wire, and I’ve folded it in half. And I’m just going to lay it down into my Bowdabra and just tuck the ends underneath, so they stay out of my way.
And then, I have my cute little bag, and I’m just going to put a few little soap, toiletry items into the little bag. This is going to be the gift bag. Next, I have this really pretty scarf, which is going to the gift in a gift! It’s also going to be our bow.
So, I’m just going to lay my scarf into the Bowdabra. I’m just going to fold it back and fold it back over. And now, I have these really cute almost like a foam rose flowers. I’ve already wound the first few together, and I’m just going to take this last one and wind it up here. And then, I’m just going to hide the wires underneath. Then, I’ll lay those down. Oh, before I do that, I want to take my piece of white burlap ribbon and lay that down. Now I’ve already dovetailed the ends. (And to dovetail, you just fold it in half and cut at an angle.)
So, this is a perfect gift in a gift, because we have the toiletry items, we have the scarf, and even the little bag. So now, I’ll pull this through my Slipknot and lay this here, pull it out. Now, I left the tag on the scarf, so it’s more of a gift by leaving the tag on there.
I’m just going to bring my wire, around to the back. And I’m just going to tie it off. I’m not going to knot it. And then I’m going to put everything aside and bring over my bag. Now, I’m just going to tie the scarf onto the front of the bag, or my bow onto the bag. And I’m going to tie it, both of these together. We are not going to knot it. I’m just going to tie a little bow so it will be very easy for the recipient to unpack it.
And I’ll just cut the ends off here. And then, what I’m going to do is take the rest of my scarf, let me show you here, and I’m just going to put that down to cover all of the items that are in the bag. So now, you have this really, really, really cute gift that you can give.
