Watering Can

Now, we’re going to make this adorable watering can gift for the gardener in your life.

First, we took this watering can and just used acrylic paints and painted these pretty flowers on it. So, I’m going to put this aside.

Make the bow

Now, I have 17”-long pieces of these three ribbons, and they’re 1 ½” wide. So, I’m just going to fold them in half. First, though, I’ve got to take my Bowdabra Bow Wire. I’ve got 30” and I’m going to fold it in half, and I’m going to lay it into my Bowdabra.

Then, what I’m going to do is take these ribbons and just scrunch them down into my Bowdabra. Next, I’ve got some that are the same ribbon, and they’re 12” long. I’m going to fold that in half and just scrunch those into my Bowdabra.

Now, what I’m going to do is take the exact same three ribbons, and these are 37” long pieces, and I’m just going to start. What I’m going to do is put the right side up, twist it, scrunch it down. Then, I’m going to bring it around, because I want to make sure that the wrong side of my ribbon is on the inside of my loops.

Continue making loops

So, we’re just going to bring that back around here, twist it, and put it down into my Bowdabra. This is one of the cool things with Bowdabra, is you can use several ribbons together in one bow, and the Bowdabra holds it so it makes it much easier., I’m going to twist and scrunch it down into my Bowdabra. I’m going to come back around. The hardest part is just making sure that all of my ribbons stay the way they’re supposed to. But the Bowdabra holds everything, so it makes it a little bit easier.

I’m just going to bring this back. Let’s do a twist and scrunch it in. I’m going to come back around one more time and just scrunch this down into my Bowdabra. This last time, I want the right side up.

Add the smaller pieces of ribbon

And now, I’m just going to kind of clip my ends here.  So, I have eight pieces of these ribbons, and I’m just going to lay these all down in here. This just becomes a great, super-easy bow to make, but it also is a great gift for the gardener in your life. It’s such a pretty spring gardening colors.

To finish, I’m going to take my wire, bring it up, pull it through the slipknot, hold the bow down really tight while it’s still in the Bowdabra. Then I’m going to take it out, I’m going to bring these around to the back, and I’m going to just tie a knot and double-knot it.  I’m going to leave my wire not cut so I can tie it onto the garden watering can.

Adjust the bow and add to the garden watering can

Now, I’m just going to kind of puff all the ribbons apart and bring these here so you can see all the pretty colors. And then take this and shape these ribbons. These ones here, just bringing them around like this and just shaping them out. And then what I’ll do is just tie it onto my garden watering can, and you have this beautiful little bow.
