Watch Sandy Sandler, the creator of Bowdabra as she shows you how to easily create this adorable cupcake greeting card. This sweet (no pun intended) cupcake greeting card will become a treasured keepsake for the recipient!
Materials:
Mini Bowdabra
18” Gold Bowdabra Wire
6’ x 7’ Pink Glitter Mesh
3” x 5” White Mesh
(4) 1.5” x 2.5” Pink and Gold Wired Ribbon
1 Gold Bead
1 White Stem Flower
So, now we’re going to make this really cute cupcake greeting card. You can use it for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s day, birthdays and more.
First, I’ve already cut this cute little heart. I’m going to put that aside. And then, I’ve precut these little pieces, and I’ve already dovetailed those, but I’m going to fold this in half and we’re just going to cut up to the corner and cut this one into the fold so that one’s dovetailed as well.
Next, I’m going to take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, I’m going to fold it in half and lay this down into my Mini Bowdabra. Then, I’m going to take my floral pick and just lay this in here.
Now, I have this 6” wide tulle that I just folded it in half because I want to just give a little extra thickness here. And scrunch that in. Next, I have this little 3” wide tulle, and just scrunch that in.
And then I take each of my little pieces here, and we’re going to make like a cute little ribbon flower. I place one here. And add one more here.
Now, what I’m going to do is just scrunch everything down with my wand. I take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, pull it through the slipknot and hold it tight while it’s still in my Bowdabra. Pull it out. I’m going to separate the ends and bring it around to the back. And I’m just going to twist my wire because that will hold, especially when I glue it on. So, we’re just going to cut that. And now I’m going to just shape out my little flower.
I Just kind of push it all up like this. Bring this all around. And then I’m going to take some of my Liquisilk. Liquisilk is great because you can play with it and it will hold, but the absolute best part of it is it doesn’t stick to your fingers. It takes about 10 minutes to let this set. Once it’s set, I’m going to take my card that we’ve already made.
It was really simple to make the card. We just cut the little ribbon hearts and glued everything on with our Liquisilk and cut the base. And then now, I’m just going to take my flower here with a little Liquisilk. Then, I’m just going to put my bow on here. And I’ll let it sit for about 10 minutes, shape it, and then you have this beautiful card.
