Sandy Sandler, creator of Bowdabra bow making tool makes some really pretty and super easy hairbows, ponytail holder bows, headband bows and more with upcycling the ribbon scraps.
Sandy begins with the Large Bowdabra. She scrunches a dovetailed pink printed ribbon (14” long) and tops it with another piece of the same ribbon but 12″ long and 1.5″ wide. She scrunches yet another piece of the same ribbon with 20″ length over it making loops. Adding another pink printed ribbon 17” long over it making loops, she scrunches a dovetailed transparent printed ribbon with white borders (12” long) making loops. Sandy tops it with some adorable rose picks over it and ties it all, shaping the tails and the loops to finish the pretty ponytail holder/headband.
Sandy scrunches a 40” long printed ribbon making loops and adds another piece of same ribbon 24” long with dovetailed ends.She adds a beautiful piece of fabric (27” long and 19” wide) along with a glitter blue dovetailed ribbon 16” long over it. She adds another piece of same ribbon 33” long making loops and tops it with a peacock ribbon 16″ long with dovetailed ends and adds another piece of the same ribbon (32″ long and 2.5″ wide) making loops. Sandy scrunches yet another dovetailed glittery blue ribbon (13” long and 2.5” wide) to it and adds another piece of the same ribbon (29″ long and 2.5″ wide) making loops. She then tops it with some green mesh (11” long and 1.5” wide) and adds another dovetailed peacock ribbon (15” long and 2.5” wide). She scrunches one more peacock ribbon of 18” length and 2.5” width to it making loops with another green mesh (17” long and 1.5” wide) making loops. Sandy adds another green mesh 15” long to it making loops and tops it all with a funky pick. She ties it all to finish the bow and attaches it to a wreath.
For this project, Sandy uses a yard and 24” long pretty golden ribbon making loops in an X manner. She adds three more differently colored ribbons to it making loops with twist and turn method. She tops it with a blue mesh (2 yards long) with twist and turn method making loops and ties it all to finish the pretty wreath and present bow.
Sandy adds two burlap dovetailed ribbons (5” wide and 19” long). She scrunches another dovetailed ribbon 15” long with two pieces of 6” wide and 30” long tulle to it. She adds a purple printed ribbon (21” long and 2.5” wide) over it making loops and ties it all, shaping the loops and the tails to finish the simple and cute bow.
For this project, Sandy uses the Mini Bowdabra. She adds two 12” long and 1.5” wide ribbons making loops, and tops it with a pretty tulle (14” long and 3” wide). She adds some cute and pretty corker ribbons over it and ties it all to finish the pretty colorful spring hair bow/ponytail holder.
