How to make the best Bowdabra spectacular large wreath bow
You can quickly make this spectacular large wreath bow in minutes with the helping hands of the Bowdabra bow maker. This gorgeous large wreath bow uses pieces of ribbon and since the largest piece is 40 inches long you can use up what you have on those extra rolls you may have laying around.
And the end result is absolutely stunning. Mix and match the colors that go together or get really creative. This one is a Christmas large wreath bow but you can change the colors for any season or event. And don’t just use this bow on wreaths. They look great on large packages, Treetops, staircases, and so much more!
There is no messing with wire that is rough on the hands. Bowdabra bow wire is strong, flexible and since it is a covered wire is so easy on the hands!
Next, fold each ribbon end in half and cut from the fold at an angle to dovetail. Then, seal each end by running a lighter over the edges. Some sheer ribbons will not have to be sealed.
Now, fold the Bowdabra bow wire in half and insert into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will work as a slipknot when you have finished adding all your ribbon loops.
Next, take the largest piece of ribbon and fold in half to find the center. Insert right side down into the Bowdabra.
Now make a loop about 4” wide and leave a tail approximately 8”. Then with the other end of the ribbon make a matching loop and tail on the other side. This doesn’t have to be perfect just make sure that both loops and tails are about the same.
Repeat this step with the second largest ribbon. The loops and tails will be slightly smaller with each respective ribbon.
Continue making loops and tails with each ribbon strip stacking one on top of the other until you reach the smallest ribbon piece.
Make the center loop
Now fold the last ribbon piece in half and insert into the Bowdabra leaving about a 2 inch-loop on one side only.
Scrunch down with the Bowdabra wand.
Finally, insert the two loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the Bow is still in the Bowdabra. Separate the ends. Remove from the Bowdabra and turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a second knot for extra security.
To finish, pull the loops open one at a time and adjust and fluff the bow and tails. Use the excess bow wire to tie to a wreath, staircase, package or whatever you desire.
