Rust Metal Flower
Today we’re going to make a really fun multi-holiday wreath that can be for Thanksgiving, but then you can move it into the holiday season. So, I’ve already taken a rust mesh ribbon and wrapped it around my wooden wreath. Now I’m going to take a green, and I’m just putting a little glue dot there to hold it while I start, and I’m just going to wrap this around my wreath to add a little bit more color to it.
Next, I’m just going to put that down on my glue dot, because you can feel it through there. Then, I’m just going to cut the ends of this.
Now, what I’m going to do is take my grape pick and I’m going to kind of put that in here. And let’s see what we’re going to do here. Put that there, and I have a little glue dot over there that will hold that on. I’m going to do the same thing on the other side. So, let me just put that down there and kind of just shape it around. So now, I’m just going to set this aside, because now we’re going to make our bow.
Make the bow
First, I’m going to take my Bowdabra Bow Wire and let’s fold it in half. Lay this down into my Bowdabra. I just tuck the ends underneath so they stay out of the way. Then I’m going to take my green ribbon. I’m going to fold it in half and just going to scrunch this down into my Bowdabra.
Next, I’m going to take my red, fold it in half so I find the center. And I’m just going to kind of scrunch that down and lay it straight.
Then, I have this really pretty fruit ribbon. I’m going to fold it in half and scrunch this down. Now I’ve already dovetailed all of these ribbons, but this one, I only dovetailed half of it. So, in order to dovetail, I’m going to fold it in half and I’m just going to cut from the crease into the fold.
Finishing
So, using the same mesh that I have wrapped around my wreath I’m going to take my Bowdabra Bow Wire and bring it up. I’m going to bring this through, pull it really, really tight. Then, what I’m going to do is take this really pretty metallic flower before I take it out of the Bowdabra and just put that down there.
Now I’m going to pull it up, separate my ends, bring it around to the back and tie a knot here, and I’m going to double-knot it. And now we’re just going to bring this around here and just shape my bow. Then I’m going to take my bow and I’m going to tie it onto my wreath. Just tie this real tight here. And tie a knot. Make sure that’s really tight. I’m going to clip my ends. And just shape it. And you have this really, really pretty multi-use wreath that is great for home décor, or you could even give it as a gift.
