To welcome the arrival of fall, why not create a focal point for your table or mantel with this colorful Fall Bow Garland! And it’s so easy to do just by dressing up a plain garland with Bowdabra bows and flowers! Here’s how –
Materials needed:
• Plain fall garland
• Wired Ribbon – festive colors 2.5″-1.5″ widths
• Sunflowers
• Bowdabra and Wand
• Bow wire
• Glue gun/glue dots
Fall Bow Garland
Start by laying out a plain fall garland – perhaps one with a minimum amount of decorations or leaves. Then determine how many bows to make for placement along the length.
Next, let’s make multi-layered bows of glittery burgundy, purple chevron and purple plaid wired ribbon by first cutting 18″ strips of ribbon. Then dovetail the ends by folding the ribbon together and cutting at an angle from the fold, down to the corner end.
Pinch each ribbon strip in the center and place into the Bowdabra.
Next, cut 23″ long strips of each ribbon; then layer the strips on top of each other. Pinch one side of the layered ends together and place into the Bowdabra.
Pinch the other layered ends together and take over the Bowdabra tower and down into the slot.
Then, pinch the center ribbons together – making sure the loops are even on both sides and press in the Bowdabra.
Scrunch down the ribbons using the Bowdabra Wand.
While the bow is still in the Bowdabra, thread the bow wire into a slip knot, tightening.
Gently pull the bow out, tying ends in a couple of knots around to the back.
Separate the loops and fluff the bow and tails.
Glue on a small sunflower to the center of the bow and attach to garland with the bow wire.
Make additional bows and add them along with sunflowers for a lovely fall bow garland!
